Introduction

When you think of the term WAG, you probably think of some cute blonde, size two, in designer clothes, am I right? You think of those lucky bitches that were there at the right time, lived in the right country, had enough money, was a model, and so on.

You probably hate them because they have everything you want.

But equally as likely, you probably don’t know them. You don’t know their childhood, or what they are like. You see them in the way the press presents them.

You also only hear about the good and the bad of the relationship, regardless of whether or not it is factual.

That is where you are so very wrong. We WAGs are not just those bitches you envy. We are ordinary people who happen to have fallen in love with people who are extraordinary.

But loving a footballer isn’t easy. They travel frequently, flying around the world, and you have to trust that they will return to you. You know that the moment they walk onto that pitch, they might not walk off again. And you know that at any given moment, thousands of other women and girls around the world are lusting after your significant other. It isn’t easy being a WAG.

We are WAGs. We are models, singers, dancers. We are actresses. We are mothers and sisters. We are students and graduates. We are dreamers and realists, celebrities and nobodies. We are the past, present, and hopefully the future.
